Johnnie Belle Reeves

Johnnie Belle Reeves, age 94, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Johnnie was born on August 13, 1924 in Louise, TX.

Johnnie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. She was also an avid fan of McNeese Football, faithfully attended water aerobics, was a member of the Golden Girls Dance Group, and loved to attend the Moss Bluff Senior Center with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Reeves, grandson, Kevin Reeves, great-great-grandchild, Avery Golden, parents, W. H. Presley and Myrtle Morton Presley, and six sisters, Jeanette, Ina, Wilma, Sybil, Doris, and Marjorie.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her five sons, Tommy Reeves and wife, Sandie, Gordon Reeves and wife, Jan, Gary Reeves and wife, Gail, Randy Reeves and wife, Jenny, and Bill Reeves and wife, Sharon; nine grandchildren, Derrick Reeves, Tara Ballou, Chad Reeves, Karen Boudreaux, Christina Guarino, Hollie Comeaux, Cindy Talbert, Tracy Newhouse, and Courtney Ward; sister, Babs Wind; twenty-three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, LA. Bro. James Rivers will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday and will resume at 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
