I have so many memories of sleepovers at Aunt Jeanette's; watching movies, eating rice pilaf, jumping on the beds, bouncing silly putty balls in the hallway, and "shaving" with whole cans of shaving cream and safety razors with no blades. She was warmth and generosity personified and will be greatly missed.

AJ always played an important role in my life. Rumor is she persuaded me to make the permanent move out of diapers by letting me pick out fancy ruffled big girl pants over a weekend while watching me. Sometimes it pays to have been the baby of the family!

There was also the time period when Malcolm had large turtles that AJ was also caring for. I remember she had large plastic tubs out back for them and we were allowed to watch them crawl around. I believe they were eventually donated to the zoo as they became to big to keep.

AJ was the one person/place that I was always allowed to drive to when I first got my license, Robin and Malcolm were in college and med school (again being the youngest had its advantages) and we would cook together.

AJ introduced me to smoked oysters while I do not remember how old I was I do remember the experience and became a huge fan of them.

Whether it was her famous rugalach, grandma cookies or egg rolls we explored the world of cuisines she was taking cooking classes in and sometimes her neighbor Lois would join us. For me it was a great learning and cooking experience. We shared a love of cooking.

AJ always had a batch of nuts in her fridge and was ready to bake something for you. Her generosity in spirit and time will be something we will always remember.

So sorry to hear about Jeannette but it can never be said she didn’t live a full life. I was always so fond of her. Condolences to Robin and Malcolm
