Bernice (Kisner) Mozden Strean, 90, born 8.28.28, went to the arms of Jesus, Monday, November 12, 2018, at her home in Muncie, Indiana, with her loving daughter and best friend, Monica Shields, at her side.
Bernice was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Walter and Mary (Orehovec) Kisner. There she married Richard Mozden. Together they were blessed with five children; Karen, Linda, Monica, Rene’, and Richard. When her husband, Richard, passed, she married James Strean, and together they had Ronald and Keith Strean.
Bernice loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart; and together they worked through the many past hurts of her childhood. We rejoice now that she is in His loving presence and her faith has been realized.
Bernice was a member of Heritage Apostolic Tabernacle and River of Life Church. One of her favorite things to do was listen to Dr. David Jeremiah on the radio. He was always teaching her something new about the Bible. Mom loved learning. Even in her old age and almost totally blind, she wanted to learn new languages. She always had a keen interest in knowing about new things in the world. She was a great conversationalist. She had a sharp and clear mind to the day she passed.
Bernice is survived by her children; Karen Frietal, Linda (Fritz) Meyer, Monica (William) Shields, Rene’ (Jesse) Starrett, Ronald (Connie) Strean; and one brother, Dan (Pat) Kisner. She also enjoyed her sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She also leaves her special “fury” companion, “Tuie”, her tiny Chihuahua; whom has found a new loving home.
Bernice is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Mozden; her second husband, James Strean; sons, Richard Raymond Mozden and Keith Strean; and a brother in childhood, Raymond Kisner.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Heritage Apostolic Tabernacle, 3120 South Walnut Street, Muncie, Indiana 47302. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
