Margaret “Peggy” Lee Spears Bahou passed away on October 5, 2018 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on August 11, 1951 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to parents, Alexander White Spears, Jr and Marylee Deyarmon Spears.
Peggy was a Pennsylvania Yankee that moved to the south in the early 60’s, living in Alabama and eventually moving to Texas. She graduated from Memorial High School in Houston and went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Trinity University in 1973. Peggy met and married Sam Bahou and they settled in Nacogdoches.
Peggy worked as a mid-wife for a few years until she decided to stay at home and focus her time on raising her children. She later chose to return to school attending Stephen F. Austin State University graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Nursing. She worked at the Rusk State Hospital until back issues forced her to take an early retirement. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her father; husband of 43 years, Sam Bahou; brothers, David and Matt Spears and niece, Victoria Griffith.
Survived by her mother, Marylee Deyarmon Spears; children, Andre Bahou and wife Margaret, Sarah Bahou, and Elizabeth Adams and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Austin Adams, Sam Bahou, Rachel Bahou, and Adam Bahou; brother, Edwin Spears and wife Tina, John Spears and wife Susan; nephews, David and Andrew Spears; and great-niece, Skye Griffith.
A Memorial Service will be held, Sunday, October 14, 2018, 1:00 PM, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. A reception will follow.
