Mary Margaret Crisp

Mary Margaret Barfield Crisp went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2018 in Palestine, Texas. Formerly of Houston and Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on January 24, 1930 in Ewing, Texas (Angelina County) to parents, Carl Henry Barfield Sr. and Zelma Margaret Spencer Barfield.

She was an avid bowler and played on numerous leagues. Margaret was a loyal sports fan from 1960 to 1996, and loved her Houston Oilers and later in life, the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. She also loved to dance with “her Bill”. Margaret was a member and 20+ year secretary-treasurer of the New Faith Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Post 3893, Nacogdoches.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.H. “Bill” Crisp; brother, Carl Barfield Jr.

She is survived by children; son, Carl H. Crisp and wife Cindy of Elkhart, TX; daughter, Cathi Sue Crisp Hernandez and husband David of Channelview, TX; grandchildren, Colleen Crisp Benefield and husband Josh of Austin, TX, Casey Lee Crisp and wife Sherrill of Houston, TX, Sarah Elaine Hernandez Moreno and husband Danny of Houston, TX, Jamie Kay Hernandez of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Kate Maley Benefield and Jillian Parris Benefield of Austin, Leah Marie Crisp and Levi Abner Crisp of Houston, TX, Celeste Rose Moreno and Gabriella Faith Moreno of Houston, TX; brothers, C.N. “Shug” Barfield and wife Deloris of Nacogdoches, TX and George Barfield of Conroe, TX; sisters, Peggy Barfield Cook of Nacogdoches, TX and Joyce Barfield McSwain and husband Aubie of Center, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a visitation, 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
