Visitation will be held from noon to 2pm on Sunday, November 17, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park.
Ms. Walden was born on January 14, 1928, in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents Henry Byrd and Eutha May Caldwell. She was a fashion model before attending Stephen F. Austin State University. After a long career working at Texas Instruments, she returned to her roots in Nacogdoches to care for her mother.
Ms. Walden loved to read and care for her cats. She was a humanitarian who volunteered and supported multiple causes. Her favorite poem was “A Psalm of Life” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Ms. Walden is survived by her grandson Aaron Gann, of Apollo Beach, FL, granddaughter Amanda Gann, of Shelbyville, TX, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ward, and her son Robert Gann.
