MARIE FORMICOLA, a, resident of Bonita Springs, FL, was called by God to her heavenly home on March 2, 2021. Marie was born in Staten Island, NY, on September 19, 1932, to her parents, the late, Gelindo and Teresa Formicola.
Marie was educated in the public school system on Staten Island, and graduated from Curtis High School, a member of Arista and with honors. She graduated with a BA degree, Cum Laude, from Hunter College, NYC, in 1952.
Marie worked, upon graduation, as an Executive Secretary, in NYC. She moved to Switzerland and worked there for 2 years returning to NYC to work for an executive at International General Electric. In 1987 she moved to Virginia and was employed by Foreign Reports, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Marie retired from this firm in 1997, and moved to Hawthorne, NJ to live with her sister's family for two years, before moving to Bonita Springs, Florida, where she has made many life-long friends, and enjoyed many activities including Tuesday night Mah Jongg and Wednesday night Bingo.
Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Costantino (Sonny) Formicola, his loving wife Dorothy and her nephew, Robert C. Formicola. Marie is survived by her sister, Gloria (Formicola) Davio, her nephews, Thomas E. Formicola (Cindy), Louis M. Davio (Antonietta), Gerald M. Davio, Michael A. Davio, her nieces, Dorothy Formicola Lundie (Scott) and Nancy (Formicola) Saake (Mark). She is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.
An exact date for a celebration of life has not yet been set and will be determined and announced soon.
