Marie Espy Robertson

Marie Espy Robertson passed away on July 26, 2014. Marie was born and raised in a little town called Montezuma, GA on July 10, 1921, a place that holds special memories for her and her family.

Marie is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 62 years, William F. Robertson, her beloved parents Robert Washington and Lillie Marshall Espy, and her dear older brother, Dr. Robert Washington Espy, Jr. She is survived by her son, Dr. William F. Robertson, Jr., her daughter, Marshall Robertson Hostettler; grandchildren Amy Baker (Brian), Andi Davis(Ben), Lindsay Shinn(Dan), Shannon Hostettler, Kenzie Barth (Joe), and Cutler Robertson; her great-grandchildren Joshua, Ayden, Luke, and Brennan.

Marie was an avid bridge player, an accomplished piano player, wonderful cook, talented seamstress, the ultimate hostess, and she loved her family beyond measure.

The family would like to thank Marie’s caregiver’s Priscilla, Angela, Calandra, Cindy, and Dorothy for their love and kindness. The family would also like to thank Tammy, Brittany, Beverly, Katherine, and Gail at Avalon Hospice for their loving and compassionate care .

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 31st at Belle Meade United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the Memorial Service at 11:00 on Friday, August 1st.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belle Meade United Methodist Church, Avalon Hospice, or pay it forward in memory and honor of Marie.

Dr. Robertson,
I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I have been traveling for the last 2 weeks, and won't be home until tomorrow afternoon. Please know you and your family are in my prayers.

Marshall- I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I have so many fond memories of her when we were in high school. She was a true Southern Belle. MER & WFR are now together again. Love to all the family.
