Richard Charles Willis

July 18, 1959October 9, 2020

Richard Charles Willis passed away on Friday, October 09, 2020, in Bowling Green, Kentucky after a long and courageous battle against lung cancer. He was 61. Richard was born on July 18, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee to Dora Henderson and Carlton Willis.

Richard worked as a Tree Surgeon in his healthy days. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, buying and selling cars and playing cards with family and loved his dog, Diamond.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Crystal Grissom, Bridgette Welsh, Mary Garcia and one son, Jackson Owen; 3 Granddaughters, 7 Grandsons and 1 Great Granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings Doris Owen, Carlene Carter, Charles Willis, Carl Willis, Herman Willis and a host of nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Carlton Willis, his siblings, Earlene Matthews, Darlene Goodrich, Eugene and Edward Ingram and grandson, Kenneth Austin Grissom.

The funeral service will be held at Eastland Funeral Home, 904 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 2 pm. A visitation before the service will begin at 10 am. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.

Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 3:30 pm.

I am keeping the family in my prayers always I have a lot of good memories of Little Richie me and little Richie grew up together wewent together when we was young planned on getting married but we knew it would never happen because he was too wild and his young days laugh out loud but I have a lot of good memories in him he was always my friend and always will be Little Richie I'll see you on the other side one day love you my friend

Sorry I didn’t get to show up before this happened uncle Richie but I want you to know that you were a damn cool uncle and always was in a pretty good mood. And kept ppl happy sad to see you go but, I will see you again so in the meantime I’m gonna wait for the day that I can see my rad uncle Richie floating in the clouds. And in my heart is where I’ll keep you till the day. Just wanna let you know how much I missed you and love you Glad your not suffering anymore and feeling nothing but the holiness of heaven and having a good time love you uncle Richie.
