Susanne Marie Chett Crass, aged 75, passed away in Nashville, TN surrounded by her loving family on September 6, 2021. Susanne was born on September 16, 1945 in Reading, PA to Nicholas J. Chett and Margaret Trottman Chett. Susanne is predeceased by her parents and is survived by husband Dan Crass, children Margaret (Harry) S. Troope Biscarr and Kenneth (Chris) H. Troope, sister Patricia Orlowski, brother James Chett, and grandchildren Max, Phoebe, Phoenix, and Dylan.
Susanne received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rosemount University in Philadelphia, after which she went on to become a social worker, working for the state of Tennessee for 30 years – serving people of all ages, via the Department of Human Services, Children’s Services, and the Commission on Aging. Susanne lived generously, compassionately, altruistically, and in dedication to service to her community, family, and friends. She enjoyed yoga, music, and spending time with her loved ones. To know Susanne was to love her. Though we, her family and friends, will miss her terribly, we know that she is in a better place and that her transcendent soul lives on.
A celebration of life will be held for Susanne on September 18, 2021 from 2-4PM at Main Street Gallery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that well-wishers make a donation to the Leukemia Research Foundation in Susanne’s name.
