Jerrold Stephen Collard

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerrold (Jerry), loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-law and Uncle on December 6, 2023.

Jerry was pre-deceased by his parents, loving first wife Marlene and brother Warren.

Left to mourn him are Anne (wife), daughter Sharon (Alan), son Glenn (Deb), grandchildren Lori, Sean, Alea, Melanie and Vanessa, as well as great-grandchildren Leo, Enya and Ruby, brothers Bryan and Roger and many sisters-and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Jerry spent his career as a public-relations officer of Winnipeg Hydro, from which he retired early to care for his wife Marlene. After her passing, Jerry began other projects, such as working for a printing company. It was there he met his current wife, Anne. He was always busy doing something, loved walking and enjoyed playing shuffleboard and lawn bowling with his wife while living his last 11 years in Carman, Manitoba.

He enjoyed talking to people and loved telling stories.

At his request, a family graveside service will take place at Green Acres Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer of 2024.

Jerry’s family would like to send their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Carman Memorial Hospital, who cared for him and ensured his last few days were spent in comfort.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Manitoba Cancer Society, which was near and dear to Jerry’s heart.
