Robert Lawrence Stettenbenz Sr.

Robert L. Stettenbenz, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. The son of the late Edward and Evelyn Leonardt Stettenbenz, Robert was born November 10, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a well-known sign painter and artist in southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. Some of his clients were Padgett Crane, Cora Jacobs Realty, Jack Zink Wrecker Service, Kraft Funeral Home, New Albany Heating & Air, and Frank H. Monroe Heating & Cooling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Stettenbenz.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nancy L. Stettenbenz; children, Robert Stettenbenz, Jr. (Pat), Joseph Stettenbenz (Cecilia), Elizabeth Chenoweth, Daniel Stettenbenz (Cathy), Richard Stettenbenz (Joyce), Tina Buechler (Danny), and Leann Kanipe (Jeff); sisters, Cherry Stettenbenz, Betty Waggoner, and Joyce Stettenbenz; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3 pm ~ 8 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with private entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, Louisville, Kentucky.

Robert and I had the same birthday. When I was 10 we had a joint birthday. That’s when they lived off Indian Trail. It’s still my favorite birthday memory as a child. He was a very special Uncle.
