

Ruth Marie Heldman, 85 years of age died Friday, December 25, 2015 surrounded by her family at her home in Clarksville. Ruth was born February 5, 1930, the last of twelve children of Florian and Caroline Giesler Schuetter. She was a native of Jasper and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Clarksville. She was employed as a legal secretary for Larry Franklin for many years before retiring in 1991, but first and foremost, she was a mother and grandmother who blessed many. Her retirement years were spent enjoying her family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent “Bud” Heldman; sisters, Mary Alles, Jenny Bell, Lorena Graehler, Rita Ingram, and Millie Richards; brothers, Arnold Alphonse, Eugene, Marcus, Daniel, and Robert Schuetter.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen Heldman and his wife Cheryl, Greg Heldman, Brian Heldman; grandsons, Trevor Heldman, Carson Heldman; sister-in-law, Sandra Sims and her husband Pete; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Church with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
