Cynthia “Cindy” S. Mattus, 67, of New Bedford, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 05, 2018. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Vitty and Suzanne (Mollis) Mattus. Cynthia served as a Police Service Aide for the City of Worcester Police Department in the 1980’s and was a graduate of Assumption College. She worked as an oncology nurse for many years. She loved to take walks by the ocean, to garden and to cook. She would often go "mushrooming" after a rain shower to pick wild woodland mushrooms, having learned how to choose those that were safe to eat from her Lithuanian parents.
Cynthia especially loved her two cats Kessy and Nina. She had many good friends who say she was always there for them when they needed her.
Survivors include 3 brothers; Bruce Mattus and his wife Penny of Mansfield, Matthew Mattus of Worcester, John Mattus and his wife Judy of Vancouver, WA and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral arrangements are in the care of the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. For tributes/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com

So very sorry to learn of Cindy’s passing. It was good to see her at Christmas—I had the sense that she was at peace in New Bedford. May she Rest In Peace now with her mom and dad.
