Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel Linhares and Rosa (Ares) Sebastian and stepdaughter of Joseph Sebastian, she was a lifelong resident of the city and attended St. Anthony’s School.
Mrs. Rish had worked at Payne Cutlery and Cliftex Manufacturing.
Dolly was a talented cook and baker. She deeply cared for her family and spent 20 years caring for the needs of her daughter who passed away from Huntington’s disease.
Dolores was predeceased by her daughter, Dolores “Dolly” Dumas. She is survived by her granddaughter, Dolores “Dolly” Sharek and husband Steven of Hudson; her grandson, Michael E. Dumas of New Bedford; her great-granddaughter, Samantha Beaudoin of Wilmington, NC; her great-grandson, Paul M. Beaudoin of Hudson; her son, Raymond Vieira and wife Evelyn of Easthampton; grandchildren Christopher Vieira of Fall River, Jennifer Botelho of Fairhaven and Tracie Lord of Lakeville and their children.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 9-11am with a Celebration of Life at 11am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 6 Boston Rd. #203, Chelmsford, MA 01824/www.hdsa.org.
