A lifelong New Bedford resident she was the daughter of the late Joseph D. Menard and Anna J. (Williams) Menard. She worked as a hand trimmer for the Acushnet Company. Kathryn’s greatest joy in her life was her family, cooking family meals on weekends and traveling on family vacations. She always said that her family was all she needed and wanted. Saturday afternoons will never be the same, it was a special time with her children. Her colorful comments will certainly be missed at family gatherings. She always brought laughter to our times together.
She is survived by a son, Louis Lussier, Jr. and his wife Michele of New Bedford, a daughter Linda A. Heys and her husband James, who was like a son to her, of New Bedford, a daughter Donna Stone and her husband David of New Bedford, four grandchildren; James E. Heys Jr., Louis L. Lussier III, Nicholas Lussier, Stephanie Lussier, five great-grandchildren; Thea, Alexander, Jenna, Eloie Kathryn, Charlotte, a God Child, Sally Wheeler of Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers.
Her visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9am to 10:30am at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford. Burial is private.
