Lucille Antone of New Bedford, MA, formerly of Acushnet, MA, passed away Sunday September 8th 2019 in New Bedford. She was the loving wife of Richard M. Antone with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Roland and Irene (Rene) Magnant. She was a lifelong member of the Greater New Bedford area and communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Lucille attended Sacred Heart Academy in her youth. After working in several area restaurants as a waitress and hostess, she and her husband opened Lucille’s Swim Queen Pools in Acushnet.

Lucille and Richard have run a family owned and oriented business for 49 years, sometimes helping people fulfill their life dream of owning a swimming pool.

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by son, Marc and wife Diane Antone of Acushnet, grandsons, Matthew and wife Jessica Antone of Freetown, Nicholas Antone and companion Brianna Grace of Middleboro, granddaughter, Molly Lu Antone of Acushnet, and her sister Rolande Da Rocha of New Bedford.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 9am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 5-7pm.

Dear Lucille I am so sad and shocked to hear of your death today. We had so may fun times and laughs when doing your nails and buying pool supplies from your store for twenty years. Richard and family, We were so sad today to read about Lucille's passing. She was always worried about you and your health and now God has taken her home.
