She was born April 22, 1954 in Lumberton, North Carolina to Jason and Jo Myrtle McRae. She grew up with her sister, Ann McLaurin, in Elrod, North Carolina. Jane was a proud Pirate and graduate from East Carolina University with a Masters in Education. Jane had many accomplishments in her life. She began her career as a school teacher in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She also had a long career in the Federal Government. She worked at Fort Detrick as an education counselor helping soldiers further their education and reach their goals. She also worked at the Department of Agriculture and with Defense Security Services as an Education Specialist for 23 years.
Along with her career, Jane was an amazing wife, mother, patriot, and advocate for education. She loved to read, spend time at the beach, and spend time with her friends and family. Jane retired in 2011 with her husband to New Bern, North Carolina because she loved to be by the water. Jane was a kind, caring, funny, vibrant, strong, and beautiful individual.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Littleton Jr., her daughter, Jessica Pewitt with her fiancé, Peter Getty, her two sons Kevin Littleton and Walter Littleton III, with his wife, Sara Littleton, her sister, Ann McLaurin with her husband, Mac McLaurin, her grandchildren Brandon, Cameron, Junior, Kayla, Kyleigh, Austin, Gavin, Kimberly Littleton and many other friends and family. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Jason and Jo Myrtle McRae, and her son Daniel Littleton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday September 14th, 2013 at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern North Carolina at 11 o’clock.
