Harry was born on February 14th, 1918 to Julius and Anna Lage on a farm in Cedar County Iowa. Harry, the youngest of eight children, spent his younger years working on farms of his parents and brothers. He married Margaret Gluhm in 1941, and moved to Davenport and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during the war years. He then worked at farm implement companies until his retirement from Caterpillar in 1983.
Harry and Margaret enjoyed their travels during their retirement years, and frequented breakfast picnics at I-280 Park with all their retired siblings. In 1993 they moved to New Braunfels, TX to be near their daughter and one of Harry’s sisters. They thoroughly enjoyed the milder climate, the small German town, the Hill Country, and the coast. Margaret passed in 2006 at age 88 after 65 years of marriage.
Harry is survived by one daughter, Joyce Larson of San Antonio and son-in-law, Myron Larson: two grandsons, Thomas Wallick of Decatur, IL and James Wallick of San Antonio: nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
