Anna Francescucci Spigno, 90, passed away peacefully after long illness on Friday, March 16, 2018 in her home in Middletown, Connecticut. She was surrounded by her loving family during her last moments of life.
Anna came into this world on May 26, 1927 in Ceprano, Italy. She was the third of four daughters born to Loreta Lisi and Rocco Francescucci. When she was ten-years-old, she came to America with her family. They settled in Bronx, New York, where Anna eventually met the love of her life, Basil. They were married for 53 years before Basil passed away in 2003. Anna and Basil moved from New York to New Britain, Connecticut in 1963, where they raised their three children in a loving home. She worked as a paraprofessional in the New Britain School System and retired in 1995. Anna was an active member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church and choir in New Britain, Connecticut. She had the voice of an angel and was a strong believer in God. Anna resided in New Britain, Connecticut up until three years ago. Anna is survived by her daughter, Loretta of Middletown, Connecticut and her son John, of Middletown, Connecticut. She is predeceased by her firstborn son, Louis, who died on July 28, 1978. Anna also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter who brought tremendous joy in her life, Rachel of Middletown, Connecticut and her adopted granddaughter, Zerang Namu from Middletown, Connecticut. Anna is also survived by her sister, Antionette Guarneri and her husband Joseph Guarneri of Fishkill, New York, along with several nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law, Marie Spigno, in California. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Anna's home health aid, Lucy, from Middletown, Connecticut. We were fortunate to have Lucy in Anna's life for the past two years. Lucy provided love, compassion, extraordinary care, and friendship. For this we are so blessed.
