Married 45 years to Therese "Terry" Squillacote, the love of his life, Richard was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend to those fortunate enough to be brightened by his quick, humor, dry wit and infectious zest for life. He was born on May 25, 942 in New Britain, CT to the late Dr. Vincent J. Squillacote and his wife, Margaret. After graduating from New Britain High School in 1960, Richard attended Boston University. From 1992 - 1995 he owned and operated Nutmeg Signs in Rocky Hill, CT. He retired from ING in 2006. A gifted craftsman and hobbyist, Richard spent the last six years since his retirement enjoying his passions that included golf, home remodeling, woodworking, photography and traveling. He was an active member of Stanley Golf Club and the Omeara Farm Community of Farmington. Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Therese (Morneault) Squillacote, his son, Michael R. Squillacote and his daughter-in-law Amy (Henderson) Squillacote of Huntsille, AL. He was pre-deceased by his son, William "Bill" Squillacote in 2002. Dear Terry & Family ~
I was an Assistant to Dick at Conn. Mutual in what was then called 'computer operations'. He was a good man with a wonderful sense of humor. He truly was passionate with everything he'd done. I haven't seen Dick for many years since our split from CML. I'm sure he will be missed. I will keep you all in my prayers. May fond memories help to ease your pain.
