OBITUARY
Robert Scapellati Sr.
February 19, 1948 – February 14, 2021
Robert A. Scapellati Sr., 72, of Berlin, passed away on February 14, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Born in New Britain in 1948 to Dorothy (Kolodziej) and the late Salvatore Scapellati, Robert graduated from New Britain High School. Robert was a retired fireman for the City of New Britain. Robert could always be found at the local car shows or “cruise nights” checking out all the cars, never on the look for a specific car or model- he just loved all cars. Over the course of Robert’s life, he has owned at least 500 cars of every make, model, and year you could imagine. A devoted son, Robert spent the past fifteen years assisting his mother, Dorothy- always making her a priority in his life. In addition to his mother, Dorothy, Robert is survived by his sister Doreen, as well as his son, Robert Scapellati Jr.; and cousins and friends. Calling hours for Robert will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at New Britain Memorial- Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT from 5:00-7:00 pm. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT at 11:00am. Friends and family are invited to join Robert’s family prior to the interment services at 10:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert’s name to Cinderella’s Pug Rescue by mail to 50 Pierce St, Apt 2A, Plainville, CT 06062 or online at www.CinderellasPugRescue.com. Dorothy, I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you during this difficult time. As painful and difficult as this time is, may you find comfort in the certainty that your son will always be with you....and that all you shared together will forever be a part of your life. May you find comfort and strength just knowing how much others care. With love and appreciation. Halina

Just shocked at this news that cousin Bobby is gone. Living in another state, we won't be able to make the services but please know that we are thinking of you Aunty Dorothy and Robby.
