Stacey was born on July 21, 1985 in New Britain, CT to parents Foca F. Dastoli and Rae Janise Dastoli.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus in Spanish, while also studying abroad at the University of Granada in Spain. Stacey was employed by the State of Massachusetts - Dept. of Children & Families in Springfield, MA where she was recently honored the distinct DCF Commissioner's Award for her exemplary work with children and families. Stacey's biggest fault was that she loved too much. Her true passion was caring for children and had a unique ability to always put others before herself. Stacey felt it was her personal responsibility to protect, shelter, and care for those children who could not do it for themselves.
She poured her heart and soul into the caring of children, believing that each one deserved to be given warmth and love. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington, CT and was active in her community volunteering, including the United Way Toys for Tots and recently coordinated efforts for hurricane Sandy victims. She is survived by her mother Rae Janise Dastoli and Father Foca F. Dastoli of Kensington, brother Vincent A. Dastoli of Kensington, his girlfriend Alexandra Marinelli of Southington, sister Amy J. Soto, husband Edwin Soto Jr. and pride and joy, nephew and godson, Andrew Nicolas Soto of West Hartford, grandmother Sandra Distasio of Englewood, Florida, grandmother Barbara Dastoli of Kensington, aunt Laura and husband Dino Bonelli of Cromwell, aunt Anna and husband Frank Caruso, uncle Frank and wife Josephine Dastoli, uncle Joseph Dastoli, uncle John Dastoli, uncle Mario and wife Sally Dastoli and uncle Vincent and Cynthia Dastoli all of Berlin, CT, Aunt Dacia and husband Richard Jondron of McKinney, TX, uncle David and wife Sandra Distasio of Wallingford, uncle Henry and wife Ann Sweeney of Connecticut, uncle Kenneth Distasio of North Haven, aunt Karen and Al Acampora of West Haven, and many close cousins, special friends and co-workers. Stacey is predeceased by her grandfathers Vincenzo Dastoli and Andrew DiStasio. Stacey will always be remembered for her infectious smile that would light up any room and her great sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, going to the beach, listening to music and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She lived every day by the words “you only live once”. May she rest in peace. She will be forever missed.
