Albert was a lifelong resident of the Bronx. He was born on June 2, 1918 to Domenica and Gennaro Anzalone. His Father was actually on active duty in France, when he was born.
He graduated from James Monroe High School, and married the love of his life, Helen in 1942. Albert honorably and proudly served his country during WW2 as a member of the Coast Guard. He later served in the New York Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, (CW4)
Albert was an avid Yankee fan, who as a young boy, actually shook the hand of Babe Ruth. He enjoyed bowling, Racing Pidgeon’s, playing cards, animals, traveling, engaging in life, always with a joyful heart and a quick wit.
His greatest joys came from his family. He is survived by his son, Gerald (Dorothy); his daughter Marie (John) DeCicco; his daughter Diane (Joseph) DeCicco. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jerry, Robert (Debbie), Christina (James), John (Luisa), Chris, Regina (John) and Joseph. His adorable great grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph, Juliana, Gabriella, Elena and Gianni, will miss him so very much.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen, his sisters, Rose, Camille, Helen and Claire.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23rd from 2-9pm, at Michael J Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Christian Service will be held on Friday, May 24th at 11am in the chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4199 Webster Ave. Bronx, NY.
