Jean M. Cavazzini

Jean was born in Elmhurst, NY to Frank and Camille Cavazzini on July 13,1950. She went to Ascension School in Elmhurst, NY and Christ the King High School in Middle Village, NY.

Jean graduated from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY, receiving an Associate in Arts degree (Education). She worked as an Executive Assistant, and a Supervisor in Accounts Payables and Receivables for Peerless Instrument Company for over 20 years. She retired as an Executive Assistant for the Mental Health Association of Rockland.

Jean was a creative person and enjoyed many crafts including embroidery, painting, floral arranging, and jewelry making. She received several medals for her Fife playing in individual school band competition. Jean is preceded in death by her parents and all her aunts and uncles. She is survived by her brother Bill and his wife, also Jean, of Nanuet, her nieces Linda and Katie(fiance John), and nephew Steven (Megan) and their two children.

Visitation will be on Sunday 11/5 from 3-7 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday 11/6 at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY. Jean’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Promenade Assisted Living Facility and The Tolstoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care.
