NEW IBERIA – Funeral services celebrating the life of Janet Theriot Trosclair will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Marty Cannon of St. Peter’s Catholic Church will officiate at the service. Janet will be laid to rest with her son Wayne, privately at a later date at Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 3:00 pm until service time and will continue after the service until 9:00 pm.
Janet was born January 22, 1956 in New Iberia to Alvin Theriot and the late Armina Romero Theriot, and passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was 63.
Janet was a homemaker but formerly worked with her brother Kevin at Theriot’s Service Center in New Iberia. Some of her favorite pastimes were relaxing with her ipad playing internet games and cooking a meal for her family to enjoy. It was said that she prepared some of the best seafood dishes around. Above all, Janet was a dedicated mother and grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family. Rest well and until we meet again.
Survivors include her Daughter, Tanya Trosclair Castille; her son-in-law, Michael Castille; and her grandson whom she adored, Wayne Castille. She is also survived by her father, Alvin Theriot; her brother, Kevin Theriot, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Dianna Theriot; her Godson, Kevin Theriot, Jr. and wife Nikki, and her niece, Shannon Theriot; and her great nieces and great nephews, Cole Theriot, Jordan Alleman, Kennedi Theriot, Kate Theriot and Tyson Rivet.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Trosclair.
