NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Russell Paul Prince, Sr., age 82, at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Billy Ruskoski officiating. Interment will follow at Beau
Pre Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 am on Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
A native of Louisa, LA and resident of Lydia, Mr. Prince passed away at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Prince was employed at Crawford Plantation and then Morton Salt at Weeks Island, LA for numerous years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Guillotte Prince of Lydia; two sons, Troy Prince of Jennings and Russell Prince, Jr. and fiancé Kate Verret of Jeanerette; three daughters, Tara P. St. Germain and husband Heith of Jeanerette; Tammy P. Cruz and husband Roberto of Lydia and Revah P. Lanie of Patoutville; three brothers, Forrest Prince and wife Sylvia; Larry Prince and David Prince, Jr. all of Lydia; one sister, Joyce P. Adams of Lumberton, TX; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Revah Doolittle Prince, Sr.; four brothers, U.J. Prince, Arnold Prince, Charles Prince and Raymond Prince and two sisters, Dorothy Trautman and Elaine Falterman.
Pallbearers will be Christian Cruz, Rhett Lanie, Aiden Viator, Heith St. Germain, Reagan Delahoussaye, Trake Verret, Tony Scelfo and Kiptyn St. Germain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ashtun Delahoussaye, Austun Delahoussaye, Mateo Garza, Nixon Bulliard, Kourtni St. Germain, Karleigh St. Germain, Abigail Verret, Landun Verret, Jennifer Verret, Lyndi Bulliard, Nikki Viator, Krystal Verret, Eric Delcambre, Maria Cruz and Cammie Prince.
