She was born on December 13, 1937, in Rangeley, ME, the daughter of Lindsley Nile and Rosealine Arsenault Nile.
Mrs. Mercier retired in 1994 as a supervisor from the Bureau of Business Practice. Mavis was an avid bowler for many years. She loved feeding and watching the numerous birds in her back yard, as well as making friends with the squirrels as well. She also loved tending to her rose bushes.
She is survived by her husband George E. Mercier; her son Richard Davidson and his wife Judye of Montville; her step daughter Sharon Alger and her husband Mike of New London; her grandchildren Michael Alger Jr. and his wife Mercedes, Christopher Alger and his wife Jennifer, and Kimberly Marie States and her husband Bill; two great grandchildren Cayden and Noah, as well as many relatives in the Rangely and Millinocket Maine areas.
