Anna Viola Bethay passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the age of 96. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 21, 1925 to the late Bazile Viola and Frances Cozendeck. Anna is also preceded in death by her spouse Forrest L. Bethay, Sr.; sister Edris Thomsen; brothers James, Charles and Borden Gregson, Bazile (Jack) and Gene Viola; great-granddaughter Ashley Colley.
She is survived by her son Tyrus Robert Bouterie (Ellen) of Las Vegas, Nevada and step-son Forrest L. Bethay, Jr. (Pat); eight grandchildren Rhonda Bouterie Dugas, Stacie Bouterie Schmidt, Diana Bouterie Noka, Andree Bouterie Chapman (David), Robyn Bouterie (Dave), Steven Bouterie (Jodi), Forrest L. Bethay III (Bridgette), and Karson Bethay (Holly);
great grandchildren Ryan Dugas (Karissa), Rhiana Dugas, Brenden Schmidt, Nola Chapman, Brandon Corbitt (Brittany), Jonathan Sacco, Joshua, Brittany and Tyler Bouterie, Noah, Emelia, Vera, Savannah, and Karson II Bethay; great-great grandson Drake Dugas.
Anna will be fondly remembered as always laughing, and enjoying life, especially playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, February 4, 2022 beginning at 10:30am followed by a graveside service at 12:00pm at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
