Jacqueline Domingue Delarosa passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in New Orleans, LA on August 19, 1944. Jacqueline is preceded in death by parents, Wallace P. Domingue and Helen Downing Domingue, and her brother, Edward J. Domingue. She is survived by her husband, Michael (Mickey) A. Delarosa, daughters, Robin Delarosa Johnson (Stephen), Kelly Delarosa Boudreaux (Daniel), and Renee Delarosa Clark (William), grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Katherine Johnson Weyeberg (Collin), Gracie Johnson, Amy Boudreaux Holmes, Yvie Boudreaux Bingham (Michael), Zachary Boudreaux (Kara), Piersson Clark, Isabella Clark, Sophia Clark, and Luciana Clark; great-grandchildren, Cecily Johnson, River Holmes, Jude Bingham, and Gabriel Bingham; sister-in-law Paula Domingue, many nieces, nephews, and grand/great-nieces and nephews.
Jackie graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1962 and was on the Dance Team. She also graduated from University of New Orleans Paralegal School. She worked as a secretary and paralegal for various law firms for 34 years. She also worked as secretary/paralegal and legislative assistant for Representative Jim Donelon. She retired from Golden and Fonte law firm in 2015. Jackie belonged to St. Benilde Altar Society, she was a member of AARP Chapter 4924, President of St. Benilde Senior Group Cher Amis, President of her Sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter XI Master, and has received the honor for 60 years of steadfast devotion to the virtues of Beta Sigma Phi with the Diamond Circle Certificate. Several years, she was nominated “Sweetheart” of her Chapter.
Jackie loved to dance. She danced with the adult dance group Tap and Jazz when her daughters were in dance school. She loved to take cruises and trips, particularly the Pilgrimages to Italy and France. She and her husband Mickey were members of Ochsner Elmwood line dance group and the Sassy Step Senior Group that performed in the Senior Olympics. They attended many weekend dance hall dances. She always made sure of attending weekly Mass amid all the activity.
Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being with family and attending any gathering or function. She was always there for everyone. The family thanks all friends for their loving prayerful support. We would like to also thank Dr. Jayne Gurtler for the care Jackie received. Also thanks to Apex Home Care and Hospice Care Associate.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 19 at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street, Metairie, LA from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with Mass at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd.
