Robert entered this world on the 19th of July 1937 in the city of New Orleans with the helping hands of a midwife, in the back room of a New Orleans shotgun double. Robert grew up in New Orleans, near Pelican Stadium, where he attended Sacred Heart school and then moved to Kenner in 1971 where he would live out the remainder of his life.
Professionally, Robert worked for nearly two decades with the American Can Company before their closing and then finished his working life with a retirement from Veolia Water Technologies where he made several lifelong friends. In retirement, Robert managed a 15 property rental home business.
Personally, Robert was a very dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Robert’s love of family was remarkable, unmatched and it was his primary focus in life. He was blessed with an incredible 61 year marriage to a woman whom he absolutely adored and loved without wavier, and he received the exact same level of extraordinary love, respect and friendship in return.
Robert spent many years involved in the Kenner Recreation Department’s sports programs where all 4 of his sons played, and again made many lifelong friends. Horse racing and golf were also interests of Robert’s.
Robert Treadway, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Clarence, and sadly his eldest son, Robert Joseph Treadway Jr. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Johann Treadway, his sons, Michael, David and Thomas Treadway. His grandchildren, Steven, Allison, and Matthew Treadway. His great grandchildren, Steven and Maddie Treadway, and his love, Canon Rivers.
Robert Treadway, Sr. was a truly kind, humble and gentle man with a sweet and accommodating disposition. He loved big, was loved even bigger and will be in our hearts everyday for all eternity.
