Timothy P. "Tim" Kingsmill, 64, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was at home in The Woodlands, TX with his wife Andrea of 38 years, their son Timothy, and his wife Mary Elise. He was brave, patient and always hopeful throughout his nearly year-long struggle with cancer.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Hartley Kingsmill, Jr., and Beverly Lemarie Kingsmill, and his older brother Thomas Hartley Kingsmill, III.
He is survived by his brothers Richard M. Kingsmill (Monica Pellegrin); Patrick M. Kingsmill; sister-in-law Marguerite Kingsmill; nieces Adair Board and Allison Kingsmill; nephew Mark Kingsmill and nieces GiGi and Hartley Kingsmill.
Tim was born April 13, 1956 in New Orleans. He graduated from Jesuit High School, and in 1979 earned a B.S. Degree in Business from LSU in Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) fraternity, where he developed many lifelong friends.
He began his 40-year career in the energy industry in 1979 at CNG Producing Co. in New Orleans, and in 1991 relocated his family to The Woodlands, TX with the same company. Throughout his time in Texas, Tim also worked in executive positions at MidCon Texas Pipeline Corp., and Duke Energy Gas Transmission. He finished his career in 2020 as an energy expert at Targa Resources.
Tim will be fondly remembered by his high school and college friends, as well as his golf buddies and business associates alike as a big personality, with a fun-loving attitude and keen sense of humor who was always true to himself. If he liked you, you were a friend for life.
He was passionate about golf and was an avid student of the game. He was a talented player but did not wish to be defined as just a golfer. He loved sharing his knowledge of golf as much as he enjoyed mentoring young business minded people. If he was hard on you, it was because he expected much. Tim relished in others' successes.
As his cancer progressed, he became truly humbled by the love, prayers and support that came his way. The challenge of cancer never deterred him but served as a catalyst to strengthen his faith. He died on the holiest day of the year and was peacefully resigned to God's will. It's doubtful he ever fully realized the impact he made on other peoples' lives while he was just living his own. He was devoted to his family, as they were to him.
A requiem Mass will be offered at noon, Saturday April 17, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass, from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery, with a reception to follow nearby. In lieu of flowers, Mass intentions for the repose of the soul of Tim P. Kingsmill would be appreciated and can be mailed to Father Louis Alessio, 12927 Maxim Drive, Houston, TX 77065.
