April 5, 1936 – September 1, 2020
Judith Ramm (Judy), age 84, passed away in New Port Richey, Florida on September 1, 2020. She was born in Sydney, Australia, on April 5, 1936. She grew up in New South Wales and Tasmania. She enjoyed reading stories about children around the world, and had friends of different nationalities, which led to a lifelong interest in other cultures. As a young adult she worked in various secretarial positions (including for the Australian Broadcasting Commission). Then she met Manfred, a German leather technician. They married in London and then lived in various places in Europe. Judy enjoyed learning German and Italian. Eventually they moved for a job in Puerto Rico, where their daughter Sylvia was born. Judy also lived in several states in the U.S.A. and spent some years in Haiti.
Judy enjoyed classical music, especially Mozart, Bach and Beethoven. She shared this love of music with her mother, Edith, as well as a love of gardening. She was good hearted and gregarious like her minister father, Horace. She loved to share stories about places she’d lived and people she’d met. She had great affection for children. One of her favorite jobs was working as a teacher’s assistant for a Montessori school in Southern California. There were multiple cats and dogs in her life; she was especially fond of her dear cat Josie. She was a good mother and friend.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Manfred; her brother, David and sister-in-law, Lucy; her brother-in-law, Keith; and nephews, Cameron and Craig. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia; her sister, Margaret; her nephews, Michael, Grant, Byron and Lachlan, and their families, as well as extended family, Chrissy and grand dogs, Cricket and Harvey.
