Ivy (Valentine) Bendetti, 73, of Newburgh, IN, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. She was born in Pittsburgh on September 5, 1945 to Harvey and Ivy Valentine.
She was a member of Newburgh Presbyterian Church where she served as a greeter. Ivy retired from Human Resources at Union National Bank. With an extra-amicable personality, Ivy made friends very easily. Her approachability seemed almost magnetic and she could strike up a conversation with nearly anyone. Ivy will be remembered for her bright, fun-loving personality, always telling jokes and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. To say it simply, Ivy was a wonderful woman and her influence on her family and friends is one that will not soon be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harvey and James; sisters, Mary Jane, Betty Jean, Margaret and Carol Ann.
Ivy was the beloved wife for 40 years of Benjamin Bendetti; loving mother of Benjamin James Bendetti; sister of Lillybelle, Alice Mae, George, Richard, Elsie, Linda, Roger, Gary and Holly; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of many wonderful friends.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Newburgh Presbyterian Church, 642 French Island Trail, Newburgh, IN, officiated by Rev. Stephen Gutridge. Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN.
