Jackie was born on January 19th, 1926 in Mississippi to Jesse Lee Kendall and Sarah Goza Kendall, and grew up in Elaine, Arkansas. After graduating high school she made her way to Houston and always considered herself a Texan. She moved to California in 2001, settling in Valencia to be near her son Jerry and his family.
She worked in customer service for Southwestern Bell. She had a brief marriage which produced her first-born son Roddy. Later she met and married the love of her life Robert “Bert” Lloyd who had a daughter Lynda from a previous marriage. They added to their family having two more sons, Jerry and Bobby. Bert worked as a lobbyist for Southwestern Bell and they moved around Texas spending every other year in Austin when the legislature was in session.
Jackie was a talented artist which she expressed in her painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and home décor. She could fix anything, coming up with clever inventions to make tasks easier. Her home is a testimony to her ingenuity. She loved to garden, always working to make her home beautiful. We also enjoyed her talent for jam making. She generously shared her jams with many friends and neighbors to the delight of all.
Her faith was strong at the end of her life and she looked forward to being reunited in Heaven with her many departed loved ones, especially her husband Bert, who her friend Pat said is waiting for her on “tip toes”.
Jackie was predeceased by her husband Bert, her brother Buddy, and her sisters Betty and Gail. She leaves three sons Roddy (Sharon) Lloyd of Springdale Arkansas, Robert (Kathy) Lloyd of Spicewood Texas, Jerry (Ruth) Lloyd of Valencia California, a step-daughter Lynda Galaway of Dallas Texas, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves her former daughter in law Donna (Joe) Lovretovich who she felt was a daughter to her in many ways.
