Carl Eugene Lail, age 79, passed away on December 30, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born April 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Kirby Prespern Lail and Mary Shook Lail. He worked in the furniture industry and retired from Conover Chair Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy M. Lail; sister, Nora Lail Keller; brothers, Herbert Lail and Ray Lail.
Carl is survived by sisters, Edna Davidson of Newton and Lena VanHorne of Vale.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church in Conover with Rev. Joel Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
