Mildred Bugge

Mildred Bugge, 82, of Byram Township, died peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born and raised in Woodside, New York, Mildred moved to Sussex County in 1971 and lived in the Forest Lakes section of Byram Township for 50 years. She was a graduate of Jamaica High School and worked as a Recreational Nurse’s Aide at Andover Subacute & Rehabilitation Center for over fifteen years. Mildred is a member of Good Shepherd R.C. Church in Andover Borough, the Columbiettes at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Newton, the Byram Senior Citizens Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed working with her hands and creating unique crafts.

The daughter of John and Catherine (Coyle) Vaughan, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Bugge, Sr. and her brother Thomas F. Vaughan in 2003. She is survived by her sons, Charles H. Bugge, Jr., of Byram Township and Paul C. Bugge of Jersey City; her daughter, Jerilyn Bugge of Alexandria, Virginia; her granddaughter, Hailey Brown (Raymond) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and her great-granddaughter, Sawyer Rae Lynn Brown of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Airport Road, Green Township. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the church.
