Raymond Charles Beckett
November 3, 1926 – January 20, 2021
With heavy hearts, but with admiration for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Raymond Beckett, proud father, adoring grandpa and huggable great grandpa. Ray is survived by daughters Charlene Holland (Bill) and JoAnne Korten, grandson Michael Holland (Dina), Jeremy Korten (Stefanie), Mark Korten (Doreen), and James Korten and eight great grandchildren. Raymond is pre-deceased by his parents (Charlie and Anne) and his wife Jane. Ray will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit. He believed in the value of family, community and friendship.
With physical distancing restrictions in place, there will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations made to Women’s Brain Health Initiative would be appreciated and warmly received. Donations may be made online or by cheque at the addresses below. While Ray has left us, his memory will be held in our hearts forever by all of us who loved him.

My Pupa - “Pup” I called him was always lighthearted, telling jokes and spending time with family and friends. One of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Pup taught me a lot about business and life. He always told me to do the right thing, be honest and treat other people with respect.
Although we will miss him, his smile, his jokes, his love, I can take consolation in the good feelings of our memories. He will always be remembered by those who knew him and loved him. I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with Pup. Camping at Shalimar, playing cards (I rarely won), golfing and spending time together talking. One big tradition was spending time during the holidays making turkey soup – a tradition that I have taken on now with my own family.
Pup – we will miss you and we will always love you. You were a great guy, role model and grandfather. Your advice and love have shaped me in so many ways. You will be in our hearts forever.
Love your grandson - Mike, Dina, Ethan and Ella

Ray was always a good friend to Roger and I. He lived down the street from us and was always waiting for me each day to return home after Roger had his heart surgery for an update. He will be truly miss. Condolences to your loss Charlene and family members.
