Daniel Antoine Laroze

Daniel Antoine Laroze, age 87, passed away on June 10, 2018. He now rejoins his late wife, Rowena Roussel Laroze, in their heavenly home. He is survived by his children; Danielle Stewart (George), Darren Laroze , Tammy Martin (Jerry) and Anita Michel (David), his grandchildren; Matthew and Daniel Stewart, Cody Martin, Traci Martin Hymel, Holly Martin Millet, Adam, Courtney and Maegan Michel as well as six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Philomene Laroze and his siblings; Marie Louise Schexnayder, Laurence Schexnayder, Therese Laroze and Gerald Laroze. Dan was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force, where he served for four years during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time in the garden, picking and peeling pecans, playing cards and sight-seeing. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA on Thursday, June 14, 2018 beginning at 9:00AM until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, interment to follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina, La. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Louisiana War Veteran Home Activity Fund. Condolences may be expressed at www.HCAlexander.com

I met Mr. and Mrs. Laroze in 1982 when my brother married their daughter.
They were what you would call "genuine people." They were loving to each other and a joy to be around. Mr. Laroze will be missed, but he was ready to be with his bride and his Lord Jesus. We pray for healing and courage as his family deals with grief.
