Marcene Primrose, 82, of Norman joined Jesus and Turner in heaven Friday, November 22, 2019. She was in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 24, 1937, in Temple, Oklahoma, to John and Vinnie Lee Morrison. On August 2, 1959, she married Turner Primrose at First Baptist Church, Norman.

Marcene received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Oklahoma. She loved to read her Bible and sincerely lived out her faith in Jesus daily. Marcene has been admired for her disciplines in Bible study, exercising, and a healthy lifestyle. She enjoyed being a Bible Study Fellowship leader for over 20 years, and helped lead women’s conferences, retreats, and recently had started a widow’s group. She enjoyed serving others and hosting guests in her home. Turner and Marcene served nearly 200 high school students in their home weekly for Young Life gatherings for 17 years.

Her children remember her as a steady, peaceful, and joyful mother who was consistently content in every season of life. Marcene loved all of her family well.

Above all she loved God and desired to live in a way that would please and honor Him. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Angela and Randy Crews, Deborah and Charlie Kosmont, Ken and Beth Primrose and Julie and Andy Kerckhoff; 11 grandchildren: Zachary and Callie Womack, Juliette, Adrianna, and Joshua Kosmont, Levi, Joshua, Madeline, and Emelia Primrose, David and Kathryn Kerckhoff; 1 great grandchild: Denton Womack; sister: Marilyn Keller; sister- in-law: Carolyn Morrison.

Our sincere condolences to the children of Marcene and Turner. They were a God loving couple and will be dearly missed for a long, long time. Years ago people would mistakenly call me Marcene, although she was much prettier than I was. Many memories of gatherings at their house. Marcene was always gracious. Love her.

So many wonderful and amazing memories with this family. I will always remember Mrs. Primrose as kind, gentle and soft spoken. She was incredibly faithful in her love of Jesus, to her family and living a healthy and active lifestyle. She was forever in the kitchen making wonderful meals. Her red velvet cake couldn’t be beat! I am just so thankful and honored to have grown up with the Primrose kids and getting to spend so much time in her presence.

Marcene's loving grace means the world to me. She showed me how to strive for tolerance and kindness in all my transactions as I navigated my surroundings. I am blessed to have had her as part of my life for the last twelve years. I will continue to ask myself, how would Marcene have handled this trying situation? With love and grace, always.

My love and prayers go to the family and friends that she leaves behind.
