Pauline Annie Bryant, 92 began her ascent into heaven on February 29, 2012. She was affectionately known to all as “Mimi.” She was born January 29, 1920 in Norman, Oklahoma to Claude and Emma (Grill) Stibbens. At age 15, she married Andrew Charles Meyer in 1935 and they had three children; George, Andrew, and Marcie. Mr. Meyer died in 1941. In 1946, she married Harry L. Bryant and they resided in Norman until Harry’s death in 1979.
Pauline was a devoted homemaker her entire adult life and loved caring for her family. She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress and made many of her daughter’s clothes for many years. She and her husband Harry together built their dream home in the country S.E. of Norman.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husbands, Andrew Meyer and Harry Bryant; infant son, Andrew Charles Meyer, Jr.; sister, Geneve Crump and son-in-law, Mickey James.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcie James of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Paula Lee Warlick and husband, Theron of Tulsa, Dr. Samantha Jackson and husband Pete of Hobart, and Michael Bryant James of Oklahoma City; six great-grandchildren, Michael Anthony James, Zoe Bridgwater, Owen Lewellen, Waylon Lewellen, Hope Jackson, and Blake Jackson. Also surviving is her brother, Leroy Stibbens and wife, Betty of Norman and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dorothy Morrison, Pauline’s caregiver and to Frontier Hospice who lavished immeasurable love, care and attention to Pauline during her period of failing health.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 421 E. Acres, Norman, OK on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:30 am; and thereafter will be laid to rest beside her husband Harry at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter Avenue in Norman.
