Sherman H. Fitzgerald was born January 7, 1935. He had an amazing testimony and left behind an even more amazing legacy, his wife, three beautiful daughters and his beloved son. He also has seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren with three of whom he went to meet in Heaven.
He loved his wife Maxine Fitzgerald and dedicated himself to hold steadfast to his vows for 66 years, always making sure she was loved and taken care of.
Sherman was an loving husband, avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, preacher, father, grandfather and jack of all trades, but most importantly was his faith. Having preached the word of God for a faithful 50 years in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, having pastored numerous congregations.
His Garden was his most prized possession on earth, having worked outside growing most of the foods his family would eat from sun up to sun down most days. His children loved being in the garden with him making memories and feeding their families. If you came to his house, he was sure to show you the garden and send you home with a tomato, cucumber, or two.
He loved taking his grandkids fishing and taught them how to do it the right way. One of his most cherished past times was his weeklong hunting trips with his son in the woods looking for deer and always coming home with one. He even kept the rack because he was so proud.
His grandchildren were so important to him and he loved visiting with them and their children. He loved holding the babies and rocking them to sleep. He even learned how to play the Nintendo DS. His heart was devoted to always making them happy when they came to visit papa.
A man of his word, always worked his hands to the bone, and lived a humble and blessed life providing what he could for all he loved. Sherman never started anything he could not finish the right way, including his life on earth. He knew Jesus as his Savior and knew he would find eternal rest in Heaven once his life on earth was concluded. He passed with family by his side on October 30th at 10:01 pm to welcome eternal healing and meet his wonderful maker.
