Laura L. Ensley of North Charleston, widow of Robert (Bob) Ensley and the youngest of six children of the late Arthur Ashe Livingston and Margarite Screven Livingston entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
Laura attended Bishop England High School, where she excelled in girls' basketball and fast pitch softball as a pitcher. She went on to meet her husband Bob Ensley at Westvaco Pulp and Paper Company (recently Kapstone) and were married and had two sons. Laura managed several convenience stores and in the early seventies, started and managed the first-ever gas station (Exxon) convenience store for her nephew on James Island.
Surviving Laura are her sons Robert Jody Ensley and Mike Ensley both of the Greater Charleston Area. Laura was Blessed with three granddaughters Tricia, Khristen and Kami, two son-in-laws Daniel and Chris, and five great-grandchildren. All of her older siblings preceded her in going to be with our Lord and Savior, We are sure they were there with Jesus awaiting her arrival in Heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 3:00pm, at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Avenue North Charleston, SC 29406. A visitation will be from 2:00pm until 3:00pm prior to the memorial service.
Memorial Gifts may be given to Cathedral of Praise at 3790 Ashley Phosphate Rd, Charleston, SC 29418 for their Veterans, neighborhood food pantry, and international outreach programs.
