Monroe was born on April 2nd, 1936 in Florence County, S.C. to the late Wattie R. Stone and Ethel Violet Powell Stone.
Survived by his loving wife, Beatrice; his children, Janet Bailey, Michael M. Stone (Nina) and David L. Stone (Kim); his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He has several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by three brothers.
He served in the United States Army and Army Reserves for 33 years. He retired from the Naval Weapons Station after 30 years. He served his local church as treasurer, Deacon, and teacher for most of his adult life.
As he loved the Lord, he honored and loved his family and friends. He loved gardening, bowling, watching birds, playing Dominos with friends and family and spending time in prayer and in his Word.
A Visitation will be held August 15th, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at The Orange Grove Rd. Church of God of Prophecy, 952 Orange Grove Rd. Charleston, S.C. 29407. A Homegoing Celebration will be held following the visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston S.C. following the Celebration service.
