

Harry Keith Foy was born in Flint, Michigan on February 19, 1924 to parents Henry Joseph Foy and Dorothy Wilson Foy. Early in his life the family moved to Indianapolis where he attended schools. He was graduated from Arsonel Technical High School in 1943 before entering the US Navy and studied Aeronautical Engineering and earned his naval aviator wings in 1945. He served in Okinawa, China, Philippines, Guam, and other countries, and post-war years in Alaska. He was discharged as a Lieutenant in 1950 where he joined inactive reserves and became an Indiana State Trouper. He served as the state pilot as well as trooper for seventeen years. He was retired from US Federal Penitentiary in Terre Haute, IN in 1987. In retirement, Harry enjoyed many hobbies. He was a member of EAA and built several home built experimental aircraft. He was a member of Wabash Valley Pilots and was an active pilot for many years. Harry was an avid auto racing fan all his life starting with Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR to the end of life. He drove a Dale Jarrett car on the Homestead Track and the Teledago Track at age 87. He was a member of Living Legends of Racing. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Foy and son, Greg Foy and wife Towanda, daughter Donna Dene English (David); daughter Sue Ellen Sticka (Mike): grandchildren, David Foy (Amber), Jeana Miller (Nate), Jamie Basore (Jerrod), Eric Sticka, Ellen Sticka and Alejandro English; great-grandchildren, Jolie Foy, Nola Foy, Corbin Basore, Cesilia Basore, and many neices and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George Bernard Foy: two sisters, Bernice Sorenson and Jean McIntyre.
