Richard was a Cub Scout Master and President of Greenwood Elementary School Football Association. He was an avid golfer and he was lucky enough to score a hole in one at two separate clubs, Brandywine Golf and Country Club in Maumee and Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club in Ft Myers. His first love and favorite pastime was fishing.
He was a draftsman by trade, employed early in his career by the Bulman Corporation. He was Vice-President of Crown Store Equipment Company and then owner and President of S.W. Store Equipment Company, a fixture company that designed interiors of many types of stores using blueprints that he had drawn himself, a skill that he had mastered and was very proud of.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Helen (nee Czerminski) Wielinski; sister, Lois Conti; and sister-in-law, Pam Wielinski.
Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49.5 years, Katherine (nee Wiczynski); daughter, Julie Hilton (Robert) of Clinton Twsp, MI; son, Jeffrey (Tracey Haas) of Pepperell, MA; granddaughters, Kristine Rose Hilton and Emma Catherine Wielinski; brother, John Wielinski (Judy); sisters, Joanne Konopinski (Virgil) and Donna Pawlicki (Robert); and many nieces and nephews.
His sarcastic humor will be missed by all of his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be Sat, Jan 7, 2012 at 10am at St Columbkille Catholic Church, Ft Myers. Inurnment will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Hope Hospice of Ft Myers (www.hopehospice.org) or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He will be resting at Memorial Gardens at Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church in Ft Myers.
