Richard‘s journey began on November 2, 1978 in Mukono, Uganda (East Africa) where he was born and spent his early childhood. At the tender age of 17, Richard (along with his immediate family) immigrated to the United States of America and settled in upstate New York. Richard briefly attended Keene Central School and ultimately graduated from Plattsburgh High School.
An adventurer with a love for nature and the oceans, Richard chose to settle in San Luis Obispo where he lived from 2011 through 2019. In San Luis Obispo, Richard worked while attending Cuesta College and obtained an Associates Degree in Science specializing in Automotive Technology.
In the summer of 2019, Richard relocated to Los Angeles where he remained until his passing on July 25, 2020. During the final months of his life, Richard was surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are: Rose Kirenga (his mother); his siblings, Peter, Rachel, Monika; and a host of other relatives and friends. Richard was predeceased in death by his father, Alex J. Kirenga.
Richard was a pure gentle soul who loved unconditionally and without judgment of others. He gave selflessly and simply craved a just and peaceful world. He will forever be celebrated and missed by us all!
