We were in a mutual admiration society ! I was very fond of her. One of the most upbeat people you could ever hope to meet!

In the Jewish tradition, when learning of the passing of a loved one, we say:"Baruch Dayan Emet". I would like to add how sorry I am for your loss.  I have been missing your dear mom very much.

I will always remember her stories of you and most of all, I will always remember the talks we shared about life and Grandma GeeGee Red. 
 
I  looked forward to her participation in my classes.  Evelyn was opinionated and I loved the "challenge!"

My heart is full of wishes for a sweet, gentle life for you , Fran, may you move forward with a heart full of wonderful cherished memories of this period of your life.

We will never forget the first time that you and your mom met our girls. It was right after a hurricane and they didn't speak a word of English yet. Emma went onto the terrace and rubbed the dirt from the screen door all over everything. I think you pulled her in and lost your balance. You washed her nice pink outfit and we had a great dinner. 15 years later, they still do some crazy things.

 Aunt Evelyn was a kind soul and will be missed by all who loved her.

I met Evelyn about 50 years ago, when she welcomed me into her home in Brooklyn during a visit to Fran, with our mutual friend Thea. I was a scruffy, hairy high school kid and I will always remember how warm and friendly she was to me, having never met before.  A couple of years later when I moved to Florida,  I again visited her new home in kendall and she and Nat welcomed me just like they would have any member of their family. I met Leslie at the Newman's home and the rest is history.  Fast forward to Leslie and I having our own children, Evelyn,  Nat and Fran introduced the Jewish holidays into our family,  which our own families did not really experience in a traditional way, and for many years, we enjoyed the holidays together with the loving Newman's.  After Nat passed, the traditions continued as our sons and grandchildren have for many times experienced the joys of the Plask/Newman family holidays.  Evelyn was always known as aunt Evelyn to my sons, David & Ken and became GG Red when their children came along. Leslie and I had many fun evenings with Evelyn and Fran, learning and playing canasta,  even with tolerating quite a bit of yelling about dumb play and bad moves as were learning. We also had many other enjoyable times together,  too many to mention.  Evelyn,  we will always remember you and love you for all of the caring and love you have shown to our family.  Rest in peace! 

Will always remember your mom as feisty as her hair color.  May her love and your love for her get you thru this time.

Evelyn was always thinking of ways to do good things for the Cantor Center.  She had a heart of gold.
Her greatest joy was her BINGO games...
She will be missed by her friends at the Cantor Center.

I have so many wonderful memories of Evelyn that I don’t even know where to begin. I guess from the beginning for starters.
 Evelyn got me my first job at Kislak Mortgage Company and always looked out for me and took me under her wing. 
A few years later when we had our own family, FRAN and Evelyn became our adopted family. That’s when Evelyn  became known as  “GG Red”.  FRAN and GG Red were always there for holidays or just family get togethers.  
 Things will never be the same without her, but we will always have GG Red in our hearts and memories forever.

We have been so lucky to see Aunt Evelyn (and Fran too!) every winter break over the last ten years. She would always come with a warm hug and gushing compliments for all the grandkids. The kids adored her and all the love and happiness she readily shared with each of them.  Aunt Evelyn will always remain a huge part of my childhood visits to Florida and I will miss her greatly!

I am so sorry to hear about Mom and it only brings back all the memories of the days at Ramblewood East and my mom  and  dad together enjoying their retirement years.  Life is going so fast that I understand what our parents were talking about. I wanted to let you know how sad I feel about Evelyn, she was a smart, witty funny lady with red hair!
My deepest condolences to you and the family,  you were a wonderful daughter to her and lucky to have had so many wonderful years together

I'm so sorry for the loss of Evelyn. She was very kind to me and I will miss her. I can't believe she was 98.

You sat in my chair for 20 years plus every Saturday, but that's not where my memories end. I won't forget England, The Queen Mary, bingo, casino's, restaurants. Most of all I will never forget when you use to say I love you and I replied I love you more. I will miss you terribly, but I know not like Fran who took excellent care of you every day. You also told me how lucky you were to have her and she was lucky to have you. Rest well my friend. What we had was bashert..love Diane.

I HAVE KNOWN EVELYN FOR MANY YEARS AS AN  AMERICAN EXPRESS RETIREES MEMBER. SHE WAS ALWAYS AT EVERY MEETING THAT I CAN REMEMBER AND IN THE LAST YEARS WAS ACCOMPANIED BY FRANCINE, HER FAITHFUL DAUGHTER.
FRANCINE, I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU WILL MISS YOUR MOTHER, BUT REMEMBER YOU HAD HER FOR ALL OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR AND WAS SO CLOSE TO HER. I KNOW YOU HAVE SUCH HAPPY MEMORIES.

Aunt Evelyn was our second Florida grandmother growing up. Whenever we would come down to visit Grandma Yetta, we would always look forward to our visits at the Newmans with Evelyn, Nat and Fran, and even after Yetta and Nat passed away all those years ago, we would love seeing Evelyn and Fran on their visits back up to NYC. 

The word “delicious” (especially when said with an exclamation point) will forever remind me of Aunt Evelyn and the joy she brought into this world. And as someone who writes advertising for a living, trust me—if you can forever own a word in someone’s mind, that’s a very good life lived indeed. Rest In Peace Aunt Evelyn.

  My Aunt Evelyn was the kindest, funniest, spunkiest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing or being related to.  When she loved you, her love was boundless.  She was my mom’s best friend literally to the end of my mom’s life.
She and Uncle Nat, I would like to believe, are together again.  
They were both incredibly blessed to have Fran as their daughter.  She gave to them what they gave her.  Unconditional love.  May she be comforted by this and have the strength to go on without her mother and dearest friend.
Rest In Peace, Aunt Evelyn.  You were loved beyond measure and will continue to be so.

My mom will be greatly missed by so many.  She was a wonderful, kind, caring person and thoroughly enjoyed her life.  I will miss her so much.  She has been my life for many years.  I will now have to learn to move on without her, as I know she would want for me.  She always said to me that when she's gone, I will have my life back.  She was wrong - my life will never be the same but I will have to go on, as she wanted.  Love you mommy dearest.
