Dr. Alvin H. Servita, born on April 23, 1923 in Fall River, Massachusetts, to the late Lena and the late Samuel Servita, passed away at age 95 on January 15, 2019 at home in Coral Springs, Florida, peacefully, surrounded by love. Alvin graduated from Salus University - Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Alvin served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 in World War II and he also worked in the Optometry industry as an optometrist at Medical Eye Center until he retired in 1994. Alvin was the beloved husband of Shirley Servita, his one and only love, married 72 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark; and sisters, Charlotte and Mildred. Alvin is survived by his son, Steven; daughters, Meryl (married to George) and Judy (married to Thomas); grandchildren, Robert (married to Gladys), Kelly (married to Jared), Andrew (married to Xena), Sean, and Devin; and great-grandchildren, Mariella, Benjamin, Lukas, and Camryn. Alvin enjoyed watching the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat, taking cruises, puzzle-making, shooting Craps, playing pinochle and bridge, discussing politics and world events, surfing the Internet, and reading crime and detective novels. Nothing was more important to Alvin than his family. Alvin was generous, charming, quick-witted and clever. He had a photographic memory and was an incredible story-teller.
