Joan Helen Ducker, age 80, passed away peacefully July 2, 2020. She was born January 20, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles and Beatrice Cousins. She married her soul mate and love of her life George Drucker on April 7, 1962, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Joan and George raised two daughters, Debbie and Amy. Amy married Bo Gervickas and Debbie married Chris Pursell. Joan was blessed with two granddaughters Samantha and Isadora.
Joan and George moved to South Florida in 1973. Joan was a florist for many years and all her customers adored her because she always treated everyone like family. She made Debbie’s wedding bouquet and flower arrangements for her wedding. Joan volunteered at Aventura Hospital for years. She enjoyed painting and clay sculpture. She never forgot to send birthday, anniversary, or any other occasion cards to family and friends. She loved butterflies and colleting seashells on the beach with her granddaughters.
Joan always greeted people with a smile and hug and made you feel loved. You were welcome to her home with food and a hug. She would look for the good in you and not the bad. She mentored women and helped them to recover from alcohol and drug addiction. She was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection.
